Just doodle

A break in the normal programme schedule. The usual navel gazing will resume on Monday.

One of the only things that can get me out of my head is playing around in my journal. I started a diary when I was 13 after reading The Diary of Anne Frank and I have kept one on and off ever since. I have always loved those travel diaries that you see in bookshops with watercolour sketches of exotic locations and the writer's impressions written in interesting handwriting on the facing page. When I discovered blogs I discovered a whole world of visual journals and one of my current favourites is D'Blogala. Every Friday she is publishing a journal prompt and this week it was "Just doodle". I have been doodling ever since and here are two attempts which I am putting up to take part in the journal prompt, not because I think they are splendid examples of doodles (and just a comment - how do you doodle dark thoughts? Doodling just brings out the spirals and flowers and little girls on swings in me, no matter how dark my thoughts are. I don't know if this is a good distraction or just me not pushing my doodles beyond the doodle stereotype):
